I just had to post about this “FEEL GOOD movie” it was the opening film at Cinequest this year.
It’s about a retired businesswoman (played by Shirley MacLaine who is absolutely spectacular) wants to control everything around her, including her own obituary, so she enlists a young writer (played by Amanda Seyfried) at the local newspaper to write her obituary, making sure her life story is told her way. This young writer takes up the task of finding out the truth. Director Mark Pellington does a wonderful job of putting these characters together and making us fall in love with them. And MacLaine is really lovable and Hate-able at the same time. Her performance is really quite amazing. “Reminded me a little bit of her character in terms of Endearment”
So here’s my bottom line on this movie, it’s a definite find and I have to say I left feeling uplifted. It’s a must see for sure!
