Yippeeee.. I am now 40 years old. I finally made it.. My adventure in turning 40.
What did I do this week?
I celebrated the evening before in Sacramento, California waving to the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Dina Eastwood and Mrs. Schultz. They were all inducted into the California Hall of Fame. Congratulations!
After the event my friend and I walked around Sacramento and found this lovely apartment complex. I am covering the sign “Apartment for Rent”, probably very pricey (rent control?) since it is directly across the street from the State Capitol.
The white shirt is from TJ Maxx 7 years ago. I remember it was a steal at $5, you never forget when, where and how much a favorite shirt costed. Right? The dress is from White and Black Market. This dress is three years old. I purchased it for an evening at the German Consulate’s residence in San Francisco. The Snowman and I received an invitation to attend a welcoming reception with Governor Hannelore Kraft (NordRhein Westfalen, Germany).
My actual birthday I slept in like 10 minutes and fresh coffee, pastries and beautiful red roses awaited me. Then after shipping everyone off to work and school I wanted to see San Jose’s Bass Pro Shops in all it glory. I was not disappointed.
I was greeted by a live blue grass band. Did I mention I have a banjo gathering dust in the attic? I sat down in this beautiful, oh so comfy chair. While waiting for a blogger friend to join me, the band asked anyone have a birthday? Of course, it was my birthday and I was so excited to be there listening to some great tunes. WOW…. An actual lodge feeling… Just like well, Silicon Valley Lodge. Maybe I should camp out in the lounge and host business hours by the fireplace?
Friday was a fun day, getting ready for my birthday party!!! Woot Woot.. Oh yeah and the kids costume parade. I dressed up as the Fairy Godmother, while Marybelle was Minnie Mouse and Rosie was Elsa.
You know how it is by the end of the day. My attitude didn’t match that one of a Fairy Godmother. I didn’t want to be prancing around my party granting everyone’s wish except my own. A friend on Facebook mentioned party like a rockstar. That sparked the perfect idea. Oh, I have that wig that Rosie was wearing (she was asleep so she wouldn’t notice) and I paired it with the perfect white blouse, black jacket and black pants. Can you guess who I dressed as?
Okay, some said Andy, Elton, Amadeus but I said Karl. As in Karl Lagerfeld. Karl Lagerfeld has his uniform. Have you noticed in many of his photos he is wearing the same outfit? I wonder why no one else can get away with this? I bet they never have tried.. or?
Did I miss something? Oh yes, I have my motorcycle license… Woot Woot. Now it’s raining these days. Something we have missed for the past year or two.
Finally you ask, “How does 40 feel”? Feels fantastic….. I just hope gravity doesn’t punish me that bad. We still have three buckets of candy left. So that is a start.
Are you starting anything new these days? Tell me about it??
