First, let me tell you about how I see Swedish women’s style & fashion; most of the ladies have a laid-back, down-to-earth but still in ways sophisticated taste. The ‘KEY WORD’ seems to be ‘Less is More’ and not ‘More for Less’.
Another thing stylish Swedish girls have in common is simple hair and makeup. Sometimes even just blank with an added twist red lipstick. Having grown up in Stockholm and regularly visiting, it is common seeing young women wearing old jeans and a t-shirt with either Dr. Martin boots or sneakers and a long coat.
In a way the majority of Swedes living in its capital takes good care of how they dress in style while not being contentious or overly stressed about it but instead seemingly relaxed. They seem to express with their looks: ‘Hej, Hej; I woke up like this fresh’ and in general they radiate health and sporty figures.
Although most Swedes have a mostly healthy amount of national pride, it is apparent that for the country and many of its citizens the USA is #2. With that American apparel often becomes trendy in Sweden, although they seem to give it a twist and wear it in their own ways. In other ways through exporting the highly appreciated Swedish designs, they in turn influence fashion in the US and other countries.
