What is this the new me – Domestic Becky? Will I ever be tamed. Wait, wait, what does that mean? I don’t know. I think it might be all this fresh air, the perfect view and thunder storms that makes life a little slower.
This past weekend I enjoyed (yes enjoyed) being domestic. Now, I didn’t say these are new hobbies but enjoying them.
Saturday I spent the day picking berries Johannisbeere (also known as currants). Currants is a berry that is mainly grown in Europe. How do I know this? I was reading Stella the alphabet of produce after passing to the “Ugli Fruit” to the index there was a brief description about currants and jam.
The other half of the day I spent on the phone with Oma (Mother in law) translating the perfect jam recipe. It turns out I didn’t have enough sugar but in my opinion the jam turned out great.
A lot of berries right? What did I do with the rest of them? I froze some but I asked my neighbor for her schnapps recipe. Whoever is our first visitor from the States or Canada can share the first couple of shots.
Well I know you are thinking that is only one case of Domestic Becky. Another example of Domestic Becky is shoveling snow from the porch. You know I would never do that yet? It rains and the German weather has split personalities but snow not yet. I do believe the German weather is a topic for Periscope or Facebook Live. Yes the weather is very serious here I can talk about the weather for at least 10 minutes. For those of you in California I know it’s all the same. Sun check.. Umbrella yeah it’s all about the spit personalities of the weather system and not about the sun umbrella that I have seen some of you use at the soccer field.
So you ask what’s next? Creative Becky (A Novogratz Wannabe) the German Playroom with American flair.
