Stockholm House of Culture
is a cultural center in central Stockholm, which every time I am visiting, is on the top of my list. The amenities and activities in this House of Culture include a library, theater, art exhibitions, debates, film, dance and music. This year is extra special for me due to an exhibition by the Beckmans which I attended as student. The exhibition is called: Natura Dentata, March 17–June 18.
Twelve artists and fashion designers are part of the exhibition. Here are some of my selected designers.
Lamija Suljević fashion designer is part of the new generation of Swedish designers and born in Bosnia. Her amazing hand-sewn collection and well tailored designs are created as a process of coming to terms with the genocide in Srebrenica. Her designs are smooth, romantic and well sculpted to the body using fabric manipulation.
Anna Scholz is a Swedish costume and fashion designer based in Stockholm. She is an amazing creative designer, who is experimenting with different materials and embroiders in her collections. She makes each and every collection with a skilled and strong concept. Her modern tone translates into an artistic expression that focuses on the idea of beauty and wearable art.
Paulina Wallenberg-Olsson is a Swedish fashion designer. She created this piece of art, like a bullet-proof Sunday dress for a girl and a fire-proof sleeping bag for a baby, dress is woven of a specially fortified thread – whose production is based upon the way spiders weave their webs. This thread serves in the production of jackets for the army.
